Michael Lee Wilson was executed in Oklahoma.
Wilson, 38, black, and 3 other men were convicted of killing Richard Yost, 30, during a February 25, 1995 robbery of a convenience store. Darwin Brown, 32, was executed on January 22, 2009, and Billy Don Alverson, 39, was executed on January 6, 2011. The 4th defendant, Richard Harjo, who was 16 at the time of the crime and is now 35, was sentenced to life in prison.
Wilson becomes the 1st inmate to be put to death this year in Oklahoma, the 109th overall since the state resumed capital punishment in 1990. ly 2, 1976, the 2nd inmate to be put to death this year in the USA and the 1361st overall since the nation resumed executions on January 17, 1977.
