On 28 January, a prosecutor in the northern Greek city of Kavala charged Georgos Skiadopoulos, 23, a Greek sailor, with murdering Julie Scully, 30, a model from Mansfield, New Jersey, cutting off her head and deceiving the police by declaring her missing. Her family said that because Greece does not have the death penalty they did not expect to see justice done.
