On August 2, Court of Appeal Judges R.O. Kwach, P.K. Tunoi and A.B. Shah, sitting in Mombasa, confirmed the death sentences imposed on Morris Muli Mwanthi, Kilonzo Kilonzi and John Mbithi Mutindi. They were accused of violently robbing Mr and Mrs Pelle Palm of their property valued at Sh105,000 at Coral Cottage on November 25, 1990 and of killing Mr Pelle during the robbery. The Lower Court convicted the appellants in September 1991. The High Court upheld the conviction in 1996.
