8 May 2017: Colonel Charles Alamba Mungako, sentenced to death in 2004 for his alleged participation in an assassination, died in a prison in Kinshasa.

8 May 2017: Colonel Charles Alamba Mungako, sentenced to death in 2004 for his alleged participation in an assassination, died in a prison in Kinshasa. The circumstances have not been clarified. According to the local media, he would have died of a heart attack.
As a reminder, Charles Alamba temporarily ensured the role of Auditor General at the High Court. He held prior to the Office of Prosecutor at the Military Court (COM).
This institution, dissolved in 2003, had judged the perpetrators of the assassination of President Laurent-Désiré Kabila, who was shot dead on 16 January 2001 by his bodyguard.
