Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif confirmed death sentences awarded to another 10 hardcore terrorists.
They are Hanifa son of Umar Zareen, Tirah Gul son of Khan and Muhammad Wali son of Faulad Khan, Khaista Muhammad son of Abdul Jalil, Ali Rehman son of Habib-Ur-Rehman, Fazal Ali son of Fazal Wahid and Muhammad Ali son of Abdul Rehman. Nisar Ali son of Damsaz Khan, Khial Jan son of Sayel Jan and Payo Jan son of Asal Jan.
They were involved in heinous offences related to terrorism. These include killing of innocent civilians, slaughtering of Captain Jonaid Khan, Captain Najam Riaz Raja, Naik Shahid Rasool and Lance Naik Shakeel Ahmed of Special Services Group.
They planned and executed attacks on Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies of the country which resulted in deaths and injuries to several soldiers.
These terrorists were also involved in destruction of educational institutions and communication infrastructure. Fire-arms and explosives were also recovered from their possession.
These convicts were tried by military courts.
