A convicted murderer was hanged at Vehari’s District Jail, raising the total number of executions to 98 since Pakistan reversed the self-imposed moratorium on the death penalty in December 2014 after the Taliban school massacre.
Munir Hussain had killed two persons – his nephew and niece Wajid Hussain and Naheed Bibi – on 8 November 2000 in the limits of Deenah police station.
