PAKISTAN: DEATH ROW PRISONER SENT TO GALLOWS IN VEHARI

a murder convict, identified as Manzoor Vasli, was hanged to death in the district jail of Vehari, raising the total number of executions to 76 since Pakistan reversed the self-imposed moratorium on the death penalty in December 2014 after the Taliban school massacre.
Manzoor had killed a police constable, Fida Hussain, over resistance during a robbery bid in 2001 and the anti terrorism court had ordered to hang him to death twice.
