PAKISTAN: LHC SETS ASIDE DEATH SENTENCE

the Lahore High Court in Pakistan set aside the death sentence awarded by a trial court in Hafizabad to Ghulam Abbas, Jahnagir, Kashif Sajjad, and Ilyas for killing advocate Rana Arshad. The prosecution lacked solid proofs against them and no evidence directly related them to the murder. As such the trial court decision was faulty and beyond the scheme of law.
