PAKISTAN: PETITION FILED AGAINST DEATH SENTENCE

lawyer G M Chaudhry filed a petition at the Islamabad High Court in Pakistan challenging the death sentence of Malik Mumtaz Hussain Qadri for murdering Punjab Governor Salmaan Taseer. Chaudhry challenged the constitutionality of anti-terrorism court judge Pervez Ali Shah issuing a death sentence for the ordinary crime of murder.
