it was reported that three death row convicts were scheduled to be hanged in the following three days. Muhammad Ilyas was due to be hanged on June 14 for killing Muhammad Nawaz in 1999 over a dispute regarding Nawaz’s illicit relations with Ilyas's cousin. A second man, Muhammad Aslam alias Acchu, was to be hanged on June 15. He had been convicted of killing a local landlord and his daughter over a domestic dispute in Kotli Hajipura-Pasrur village on May 10, 1995.
Retired army personnel Imtiaz Hussain was due to be hanged on June 16 for killing his colleague Subedar Asghar Ali and soldier Muhammad Anwar over a minor dispute in 1999.
