PAKISTAN: TWO AWARDED DEATH PENALTY FOR MURDER OF FAMILY

two men were awarded the death penalty and fined Rs 400,000 each by the district and sessions court for killing four members of a family here. Judge Faiz Rasool Rashdi awarded the death penalty to Ashfaq Shah and Sakhawat Shah. On April 27, 1996, Ashfaq Shah and Sakhawat Shah entered the house of Abdul Aziz Shaikh and when the inmates put up resistance they opened fire, killing all four family members, including Abdul Aziz Shaikh, his wife Sakina, son Tariq and daughter Rani.
