PROSTITUTION-RING LEADER'S DEATH PENALTY UPHELD IN SW CHINA

the death penalty given to female gang boss Wang Ziqi in August 2010 by China's Chongqing No. 5 Intermediate People's Court was upheld by the Chongqing Municipal Higher People's Court. Ziqi was found guilty of five crimes relating to prostitution and bribery. Tao Minggu, another gang member, was also sentenced to death. Both were both deprived of political rights for life and had their assets confiscated. Another gang member was sentenced to death with a two-year reprieve.
