S KOREA HAS 61 CONDEMNED CRIMINALS

South Korea has 61 people on death row, though it has not executed anyone since 1997, Amnesty International said. In North Korea, at least 60 people were executed in 2010, according to the human rights body. An Amnesty Korea official said that “many lawmakers are for abolishment. Three bills are pending, and dozens of lawmakers announced a statement on the issue in October 2010.”
