Saleem Sultan was condemned to capital punishment by the Additional District and Sessions court in Lahore for murdering Muhammad Ijaz over a minor dispute at a race course on April 17, 1995. Another court gave the death sentence to Riaz Ahmed in a murder case. He was convicted of having shot dead Maqsood Ali in a dispute in Hanjarwal on September 27, 1994.
