Saudi King Abdullah ordered the execution of all qizas or death penalty cases to be deferred for three months, a Saudi official confirmed with the Philippine embassy in Riyadh on 10 March. The confirmation was made by Adbulaziz Abdulrahman Al Gaeit, assistant of the Undersecretary for Public Rights at the Emir’s office. The reprieve would end on 8 June.
