SAUDI ARABIA: MAGICIAN, MURDERER EXECUTED

Two Saudis were beheaded in the border town of Gurayyat in the Al-Jouf province, an Interior Ministry statement said. One of them killed his own son, an infant, while the other was caught practicing sorcery.
The statement gave details of the gruesome killing.
“Maqbool Al-Sharari tortured his two-year-old son to death by burning him and hitting him at the back of his head with a club and then clasping his mouth and nostrils with his hands and throwing him on the ground,” the statement said.
Al-Sharari was arrested soon after he committed the crime and a general court sentenced him to death after examining the evidence against him and his confession statement. Muhammad bin Bakr Al-Alawi, meanwhile, was beheaded on August 5 for sorcery and other similar offenses. The court endorsed the charges against him and handed him a capital punishment sentence, the statement said.
