SAUDI ARABIA SAUDI CONVICT ESCAPES EXECUTION AT LAST MOMENT

a Saudi convict escaped execution by decapitation in the Saudi city of Taif. As more than 2,000 people gathered in a public square to witness the death of Muhammad al-Sufyani and as the executioner was preparing his sword and taking position, suddenly the brother of the victim announced that he pardoned the killer. The victim's brother said he was seeking nothing in exchange for his brother's murder other than a reward from God. Al-Sufyani was found guilty of stabbing to death his victim after a fight between the two men.
