mediation efforts by Tabuk Emir Prince Fahd Bin Sultan paved the way for the family of a murder victim to pardoning the man convicted of killing him.
Yousef Al-Masudi had been sentenced to death by a Shariah court for killing Ahmed Al-Omrani. Awdah Al-Omrani, the victim's father, announced his decision to forgive Al-Masudi during a reception held at the emir's office.
Speaking on the occasion, Prince Fahd thanked Al-Omrani and his family for the noble gesture. “We are all proud of you and indeed this great gesture deserves appreciation and respect from Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah and other leaders and people of Saudi Arabia,” he said.
