SAUDI SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR JOINING IRAQ INSURGENCY

a Saudi radical accused of participating in the insurgency in Iraq, has been sentenced to death by the country’s criminal court, the US military said.
“The trial court found a Saudi Arabian man guilty of joining armed groups to unsettle the security and stability of Iraq and endangering people's lives,” the military said, adding the sentence was passed on November 1.
It said the defendant had admitted “coming into Iraq illegally to fight.”
A Syrian was also sentenced to 15 years imprisonment for joining armed groups to destabilise Iraq.
The Central Criminal Court of Iraq also sentenced six Iraqis to 30 years for illegal possession of weapons, while three others were given 15 years for kidnapping.
