Judge Datuk Lim Yee Lan of the Malaysian High Court sentenced security guard Shamuddin Sohan, 42, to death by hanging for trafficking cannabis weighing 941g in front of the Grand Seasons Hotel in Jalan Pahang on May 29, 2002. In 2006, Lim acquitted and discharged Shamuddin after the prosecution failed to prove a prima facie case.
