according to the Citizens Against Corruption Human Rights Centre, a total of 17 foreigners are in Kyrgyzstan’s death row. The majority are citizens of the post-Soviet states, with three from other foreign countries. It is known that this includes six Uzbek, three Kazakh, three Russian, two Tajik, two Chinese and one Turkish citizen. At present there are 172 people sentenced to death in Kyrgyzstan. The majority (158 people) were sentenced on murder charges. The rest were convicted of suspicion of involvement in terrorism or organization of illegal armed groups or involvement in them. The majority of the convicts are Kyrgyzs (63 people), 48 Russians and 33 Uzbeks. In all, representatives of 16 nationalities are in death row.
