Sher Ali was condemned to death twice for the murder of his maternal grandfather and aunt. The prosecution said that Sher Ali came to their house in Gujarpura and demanded money on April 19, 1995. On their refusal, he stabbed his maternal grandfather Rahmat Ullah and aunt Tabassum Bibi to death and seriously injured his aunt Bushra.
