the Singapore High Court granted a Malaysian man’s application for a stay of execution in what may be the first of its kind. Yong Vui Kong, 21, was found guilty in November 2008 of trafficking 47g of heroin. He was scheduled to be hanged on December 4, 2009. Yong will now appeal to the Court of Appeal on December 8, 2009.
