six Vietnamese men were sentenced to death after being convicted of being part of a 16-man gang accused of trafficking over 26.56 kilograms (58.4 pounds) of heroin, 4.8 kilos of opium and 764 pills of methaphetamine into Vietnam from Laos.
They were found guilty by Hanoi's people court after a nine day trial. Three others were sentenced to life imprisonment. They were arrested in January, ending a drug running operation that started four years earlier.
