SOMALIA: AL-SHABAAB EXECUTES 14-YEAR-OLD GIRL IN DINSOR

Al-Shabaab militants in Dinsor, in Somalia's Bay region, publically executed a 14-year-old girl accused of spying for the Somali government, Somalia's Goobjoog News reported.
Al-Shabaab accused Farhiyo Abdinasir Mohamed of receiving training in Hudur town and arrested her in Ufurow, according to Somalia's Jowhar.
A spokesman for the group during the execution said the girl was caught giving information to the government and after careful investigation she pleaded guilty of the crime. The residents in the town came out and watched the execution of the teenage girl.
“Hundreds of people came out to watch the death sentence,” witness confirmed. According to her relatives the girl has been in detention the last few days.
Finally the spokesman warned the public to cease from having relations with the federal government.
Since March, al-Shabaab has executed eight men for allegedly spying for the Somali government and foreign intelligence agencies.
There was no immediate comment from al-Shabaab on the latest execution.
