Somalia's Transitional Federal Government (TFG) military court executed a member of the Somali National Forces after he killed his colleague in Mogadishu. The death sentence was carried out in the police force's General Kahiye training school in Mogadishu. The hearing on sentencing was attended by a large number of people and TFG officials, including the chairman of the military court judge Hassan Mahamad Hussein Muungaab. The executed man, Ahmed Mahamed Sahal killed his fellow police man Abdi Hassan on 15 April 2011. “We are calling upon the military and police forces to take care of themselves and the lives of the other innocent people. Our duty is to serve justice,” said the chairman of the military court. “I would like the government forces to see what is happening to the criminals and avoid such actions. I hope this will decrease the insecurity of Somalia,” he stressed.
