Rep. Park Min-shik of the governing Grand National Party in South Korea said 920 condemned criminals were put to death from 1949 to 1997.

Rep. Park Min-shik of the governing Grand National Party in South Korea said 920 condemned criminals were put to death from 1949 to 1997. Murderers made up the majority of the group with 562. A total of 254 political offenders were executed. Forty-three convicts were executed for espionage.
