a court in Incheon, South Korea, issued a death sentence to a man identified only by his surname, Ha. The 28 year old was convicted of kidnapping a 47-year-old woman and her daughter on Gang-hwa Island, 50 km west of Seoul, in June 2008. He then strangled them after withdrawing 100 million won from the mother's account. Two of his accomplices, identified only by their last names Ahn and Lee, who conspired with Ha to murder the women, were sentenced to life imprisonment. Ha and Ahn were additionally convicted of kidnapping and killing Ha's half-sister in April 2006.
