A High Court in Bor town in South Sudan’s Jonglei state on 21 January 2019 sentenced a man to death by hanging.
Justice Yel Aleu, the presiding judge told Radio Tamazuj on 24 January that Akuei Diar was sentenced to death by hanging after being found guilty of murder.
He further said the offence committed by Diar was punishable under Section 206 of Penal Code. “Akuei Diar was found guilty for killing Madit Majok,” he said.
Yel, who is also the president of High Court in Jonglei State, said Diar had 14 days to appeal.
