Five suspects who were found guilty of murdering a security guard were given death sentence by the Nuwara Eliya High Court.
The suspects were charged for robbing a jewelry shop in Nuwara Eliya and killing its security guard in the year 2000.
The Attorney General had indicted seven suspects for the murder but two suspects were acquitted by Nuwara Eliya High Court Judge Lalith Ekanayake today.
However the case was heard in absentia of two suspects.
