The Kalutara High Court on 13 December 2021 sentenced five persons to death.
The first two defendants were sentenced to death by the High Court Judge Jagath K. Kahadagamage for the murder of a 23-year-old man at Bulathsinhala Polegoda on 5 June 2001.
The judge also ordered the death sentence for three other people convicted of murder in Bulathsinhala on 15 April 2007.
Kalutara is a major city in Kalutara District, Western Province, Sri Lanka.
