The Ratnapura High Court has handed death sentences to three suspects who were found guilty of murdering a seventeen-year-old as part of a sacrificial ritual in Medebedde, Balangoda on September 18, 2005.
The Shaman who conspired to carry out the ritual and two others were sentenced to death. The convicts were handed down sentences of rigourous imprisonment following investigations carried out by the Criminal Investigations Department.
The Ratnapura High Court, handing down the sentence had informed that the charges levelled against the respondents were proved beyond reasonable doubt.
