Ten persons were sentenced to death after being found guilty of two murders reported in Matara and Badulla.
The Badulla High Court sentenced five police officers and an officer attached to the Civil Defence Force pertaining to the death of an individual in police custody.
Meanwhile, four persons were sentenced to the death after being found guilty of a murder reported in the year 2004.
The guilty were accused of hacking a person to death in Gandara, Matara.
The order was issued by Matara High Court Judge Damith Thotawatte.
However, NewsRadio Court Correspondent said one person accused of manslaughter was acquitted.
