The Colombo High Court sentenced to death two accused after they were found guilty of hacking to death a 17-year-old boy in 2001, News First reported on 12 December 2019. The sentence was delivered by High Court Judge Gihan Kulatunga and the killing took place on the 12th of April 2001 inside a school in Kotahena.
In addition, an open warrant was issued for the arrest of another accused who has been absconding court.
