State-owned media reported that the Yangon district court sentenced Mr Yumingyu, a 45 year old Taiwanese citizen, to death for trying to smuggle heroin out of the country

State-owned media reported that the Yangon district court sentenced Mr Yumingyu, a 45 year old Taiwanese citizen, to death for trying to smuggle heroin out of the country. He was found to be in possession of 500 grams of heroin upon being searched by drug squad officials while he was waiting to board a flight to Taipei in early June.
