State Security Forces (SSF) in the town of Bukan

1 MIN READ
State Security Forces (SSF) in the town of Bukan, western Iran, raided several wedding ceremonies and arrested a number of young guests. The detained men have been charged with wearing ties. Ties are considered by the Iranian regime to be “un-Islamic” and a symbol of corrupt Western influence.
The SSF released a statement denouncing ties and warning that anyone wearing a tie would be considered “immoral and un-Islamic and liable to be arrested.” The same statement warned clothes store owners to refrain from selling ties and added that stores selling ties would be shut down.
