A Sudanese court sentenced two policemen to death for the murder of a detainee in a Khartoum North police station in 2009.
Aldroshab court in Bahri town, a twin city of Khartoum, the capital, has sentenced the two policemen to death after convicting them of torturing the detainee to death. The two policemen were accused of torturing the detainee who had been accused of theft to death during their investigations. The judge made his ruling on the basis of a medical report that stated that the death of the victim resulted from repeated blows from military boots on various parts of his body as well as from a chair leg being forced into his anus.
