Sudan voted against the resolution on the death penalty approved by the UN Commission on Human Rights on April 28 (n 1999/61).The Special Rapporteur on Extrajudicial, Summary or Arbitrary Executions has continued to receive reports of such executions resulting from armed conflicts between members of the armed forces and insurgent groups within the country.
