as the state counsel failed to prove the murder charges, the High Court set aside a verdict awarded by the Speedy Trial Tribunal on March 17 2004 in Dhaka. The verdict had sentenced Kajol Ahmed Jalali to death, while Dr Rawshan Alam, a BNP leader and owner of Libra Pharmaceuticals, Humayun Kabir alias Phool Miah, Ziauddin alias Bayes and Ibrahim Noor alias Apu to life term imprisonment for killing former BNP MP from Brahmanbaria-6 constituency Shahjahan Hawladar Sujan. Sujan, 35, was found dead on the Dhaka University campus in July, 2001, five days after his abduction by rivals.
