in Taiwan, the Taipei High Court sentenced Hsiao Jen-chun and Liao Chia-lin to death for murdering attorney Chou Te-sheng during a robbery in January 1996. The pair allegedly tied a curtain around Chou's neck before stabbing him several times in the neck and chest because he identified Liao during the robbery.
The court ruling said both defendants had long criminal records, including counts of robbery and kidnapping, and also committed several robberies during their parole.
The two can appeal to the Supreme Court.
