Terrorism Victims' Solidarity and Cooperation Association Chairman Mehmet Alptekin said that the association condemned those who had expended efforts for abolition of death penalty, and broadcasting and education in Kurdish under the European Union (EU) reform package.
Alptekin said that Turkey had fulfilled the requests of the terrorist organization PKK by approving abolition of death penalty, and broadcasting and education in mother tongue.
"We will explain attitudes of the Democratic Left Party (DSP), the Motherland Party (ANAP), the Felicity Party (SP), the New Turkey Party (YTP) and the True Path Party (DYP) throughout Turkey to decrease their votes in the early elections. We condemn all political parties which expended efforts for abolition of death penalty, and broadcasting and education in mother tongue. They saved head terrorist Ocalan from the punishment he deserved," he said.
Alptekin said that they supported the Nationalist Movement Party's (MHP) application to the Constitutional Court for annulment of the articles about abolition of death penalty, and broadcasting and education in mother tongue.
Istanbul Association of Martyrs' Families Chairman Sencan Bayramoglu's reaction to the abolition of of the death penalty was, "PKK supporters shed tears of joy while we shed tears of sorrow."
Zonguldak Association of Martyrs' Families Chairman Cihan Kokturk claimed that Turkey gave in to the EU's demands by adopting the EU reform package. Cubuk Social Solidarity Association of Victims of Terrorism Chairman Zeki Avan said that the parliament had not consult martyrs' families before deciding on abolishing the death penalty.
Yozgat Association of Martyrs' Families Chairman Metin Eroglu said that independent court's decision on head terrorist Abdullah Ocalan should be implemented. Karabuk Association of Martyrs' Families Chairman Ceylan Eser claimed that parliamentarians committed the crime of treason by removing the death penalty.
