Jamie McCoskey, 49, White, was executed in Texas.
McCoskey was convicted of the November 1991 kidnapping and murder of 20-year-old Michael Dwyer. McCoskey kidnapped Dwyer and his 19-year-old fiancee from Drywer's apartment and forced them to an abandoned house in Houston. Dwyer was stabbed to death and his fiancee was raped.
McCoskey becomes the 15th inmate to be put to death this year in Texas and the 507th overall since the state resumed capital punishment on December 7, 1982. McCoskey becomes the 34th inmate to be put to death this year in the USA and the 1354th overall since the nation resumed executions on January 17, 1977.
