Thailand's Criminal Court sentenced four Laotians to death for intending to sell illegal drugs in the kingdom

Thailand's Criminal Court sentenced four Laotians to death for intending to sell illegal drugs in the kingdom. The four Lao women were arrested in August 2002 on the Thai-Lao border after Thai police were informed that several Lao women posing as tourists were smuggling drugs across the border, according to the state Thailand News Agency (TNA). The women were caught in possession of 17.5 kilograms of heroin and approximately 60,000 methamphetamine tablets over 200,000 US dollars.
