The 2nd murder trial of Ronnie Keith Williams ended...

The 2nd murder trial of Ronnie Keith Williams ended in a mistrial after a prosecutor mistakenly alluded to Williams' 1st trial in front of the jury. Williams, 39, was first convicted in 1996 of murdering Lisa Dyke. Dyke, 18 and pregnant, died in 1993. Williams was sentenced to execution, but won a new trial from the Florida Supreme Court because a juror failed to disclose a pertinent personal issue during jury selection. Williams' 2nd trial had neared its conclusion this week. But Prosecutor Deborah Zimet inadvertently referred to the previous trial while examining a witness. Defense attorneys Evan Baron and Hale Schantz moved for a mistrial, which was granted by Broward Circuit Judge Sheldon Schapiro.
