the Anti-terrorism Court in South Darfur executed by hanging three persons convicted of terrorist crimes. The hanging of the three convicts was the first implementation of death sentences issued by special courts in Sudan under2001 Anti-Terrorism Law. According to Khartoum-based Al-Sudani newspaper, the three convicts were part of gangs of armed robbers operating in Nyala, the capital of South Darfur State. The executions had been approved by the President of the Republic.
