The Assembly of the Republika Srpska, the Bosnian Serb Republic, entity of Bosnia-Herzegovina adopted a new criminal code which changed the death penalty to life imprisonment. Justice Minister Cedo Vrcina said that the code presented a radical reform of the judiciary system in the RS and provided for its harmonisation with European standards, since it "leaves socialist norms behind and affirms subjective responsibility and human rights." All delegates' caucuses supported the code, although not all their amendments were included in it.
