The Cardiff mother of a young girl indecently assaulted by rapist Jonathan Richards told the Echo she wishes he had been given the death penalty.
Richards was sentenced to 15 years in jail at Cardiff Crown Court after being found guilty of six counts of rape and five of indecent assault on an 11year-old girl. He was also found guilty of indecently assaulting an eight-year-old girl. Richards had denied all charges.
The mother of the eight year-old victim - now nine - said: "I would have preferred a longer sentence. Actually I would have been happier with the death penalty."
