The Constitution of the Federated States of Micronesia (1980) at Article 4, Section 9, states:

The Constitution of the Federated States of Micronesia (1980) at Article 4, Section 9, states: "capital punishment is prohibited." No execution has been carried out since independence was declared on November 3, 1986. Micronesia had previously been a Trust Territory under the United States.
On December 18, 2008 and December 21st, 2010, Micronesia co-sponsored and voted in favour of the Resolution on a Moratorium on the Use of the Death Penalty at the UN General Assembly.
