The Council of Europe (COE) Ministers Committee approved a statement which targets making Europe a continent totally free of capital punishment.
The statement made reference to the decision taken by the Council of Europe in Rome, on November 3-4, regarding the abolishment of capital punishment. Recalling that it has not been executed in Europe for a long time, the statement called on all the member countries to approve the 6th protocol foreseeing the abolishment of capital punishment.
