The Daily Telegraph ran an article on Daniella Laun, Miss England World 2002, and her intentions not to boycott the Miss World contest in Nigeria so as to raise her voice at the event in favour of Amina Lawal, a Nigerian woman sentenced to death by stoning for adultery. "I feel that if I abandon Nigeria it'll be like I'm abadoning Amina and her supporters and so, instead, I intend to make a statement condemning such inhumane action and demand equal rights while I am on the stage at the contest. I am going there to support her_ I want to do all I can to make sure Amina doesn't die. I will do whatever it takes to prevent her from being stoned to death and I think by being there I am backing her," said Miss Laun, 21.
